“Paula Deen’s Kitchen” leaving Joliet

Harrah’s Joliet is dropping its “Paula Deen’s Kitchen” restaurant located inside its casino complex, as its corporate owner works to quickly re-brand its restaurants.

“While we appreciate Paula’s sincere apologies for statements she made in her past that she recently disclosed during a deposition given in response to a lawsuit, after thoughtful consideration of their impact, we have mutually decided that it is in the best interests of both parties to part ways at this time,” according to a written statement from Jan Jones Blackhurst, Caesars Entertainment Executive Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs.

The buffet-style restaurant is one of a number of Paula Deen-branded restaurants in Caesar properties.  The Joliet restaurant will simply be called, “The Restaurant at Harrah’s” until a new name has been finalized.

I feel this is way overboard too. People are way too sensitive of words … just words. Remeber the old saying "sticks and stones can break my bones by names will never hurt me"
