Flash Flood Warning in effect until 11:30 a.m.

Up to three inches of rain has fallen since 3 a.m. over some of Chicago’s northern suburbs.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 11:30 a.m. for Lake, McHenry and Northern Cook Counties.

Damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall are all possible as more clusters of thunderstorms are expected to move across the region today.

There will continue to be a slight risk of some severe storms today as warm and muggy conditions persist.  Temperatures are expected to top out near seasonal averages as more cloud cover keeps things a touch cooler.

The chance for rain dies down tonight, but the chance for widely scattered showers and storms will continue through the rest of the workweek as humid conditions stick around.
