Bill McCaffrey, a spokesman for Mayor Rahm Emanuel, said Monday night that the city and the Blackhawks were planning a rally for sometime yet this week. But no date was yet set, McCaffrey said.
In 2010, the previous time the team won the Stanley Cup, Chicago feted the club with a massive parade and rally that was one of the best-attended celebrations in city history.
Dressed in hockey jerseys and caps emblazoned with the team’s cherished Indian logo, fans transformed Michigan Avenue into a red sea that only a Stanley Cup championship team could part.
