Officers say they heard gunshots in the area and then saw three men running down a street. When they tried to stop the teen, he took off down an alley and reportedly turned and pointed a gun at the officers.

Relatives identify the teen as Michael Westley.

They say he was playing with fireworks and was not shooting a gun.

The incident is under investigation by the independent police review authority.

With all seriousness, I wouldnt run from no cops. Why should I run? I have only been pulled over one time for tail light in the last 5 years.

Is it me or do we hear the "firework" excuse a lot? Maybe it is time for them to come up with another lie to make it appear like the police are wrongfully targeting them. Don't have anything to hide, don't run from the police…that seems pretty simple to me. If he didn't have a gun at the time, he was probably running from something else that he did earlier that evening.
