A man who killed a 10-year-old boy in a boating accident, while under the influence, is expected to receive his sentence today.
Tony Borcia died while tubing with his family on petite lake, near Lake Villa last July.
Prosecutors say David Hatyina was drunk and had cocaine in his system when his speedboat hit the boy.
He pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI in April.
The victim’s family addressed the court Thursday about Tony, and shared personal stories about him.
Defense attorneys also questioned officers about how intoxicated Hatyina really was that day.
They are trying to minimize his sentence, which could be three to 14-years in prison.

I don't recall this man's age, but it seems like an unfair trade-off in taking a 10-year old boy's life. He may be sorry for it, but there has to be some accountability here…I say go for the max. A slap on the wrist sends a wrong message. People have to realize the potential consequences for their actions!!
