Blackhawks fan hit in face with puck during Game 1

A Blackhawks fan has a temporary, but painful souvenir from Wednesday’s triple overtime game one of the Stanley Cup Final.

Dr. Patricia Higgins of Burr Ridge got a puck to the face just before the end of regulation.

The deflected puck flew over the glass and opened a one and-a-half inch gash across the bridge of her nose and right eyebrow.

The cut required several internal and external stitches, but she’s expected to make a full recovery.

I wonder how many lawyers are crawling out from under rocks and from the garbage cans to sue the HAWKS . This person buys a ticket and knows about the puck and the dangers of not paying attention. I pray she heals well and forgets about the lawsuit.

If she's a true hawk fan she'll brag about the scar on her face. Maybe the team should of all signed the puck and gave it to her.

great, now we will be stuck with the stupid netting around the entire rink instead of the ends where it is now. those seats come with risk, just like at a baseball game, and people need to understand and own up to that and the league needs to do away with the netting and give fans thier souvenir opportunities back.

I believe on the ticket it reads that Hawks are not responsible for stuff ending up in the crowd. Baseball games are the same. I would like to think the Hawks are gonna give her a team signed jersey, stick, or puck.

The fan should know the consequences when they show up for a game.

Which player shot it? The team should sign it for her.

Now that's taking one for the team! I'm sure the Hawks will hook her up somehow ,maybe they'll let her hold the Stanley Cup.
