The excitement behind the Chicago Blackhawks continues to build as the team tries to capture the Stanley Cup.
Shortly after noon Thursday, a giant Blackhawks banner was unfurled at the Tribune Tower. The moment was broadcast live on the WGN Midday News.
The Tribune Company and the Chicago Blackhawks teamed up to have the banner. The Tribune was also giving away cheer cards, and special newspaper inserts called, “Hockey Town.” Tickets and jerseys were also given away.
The Blackhawks lead the best-of-seven series against the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup final one to nothing. Game two will be held Saturday night.
