A significant pattern change aloft Tuesday will allow very warm humid air that has been held up over the southwest and southern plains to shift east.
With Chicago finding itself briefly included on the periphery of that warmer air mass – our Tuesday afternoon temperatures could approach and possibly reach the 90-degree mark.
Temperatures will most likely run a few degrees above normal from mid-week on, but so will the rainfall.
As another low pressure system tracks through from the west, Wednesday looks pretty wet here, with showers and thunderstorm downpours giving between a half-inch and inch of rain at many locations.
Conditions should dry out somewhat Thursday and Friday before another round of showers and thunderstorms spread into and through this area later next Saturday into Sunday.
