Little Village residents jump to escape overnight fire

Some residents of a three-story building in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood jumped to escape an overnight fire in their home.

Witnesses reported seeing at least two people jumping from the upper levels of a three story building on the 2100 block of South Millard before 4 AM on Saturday.

The fire began near a back porch where a washer and dryer were plugged into a power strip according to police.

The most seriously injured victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Another person was injured and is in fair to serious condition.
