On the city’s north side, a 25-year-old man was shot multiple times and critically wounded in the 1200 block of west Sunnyside near Racine and Magnolia just before 8:00 p.m.
It happened just an hour after a shooting here Englewood. At least three people were shot in the 5900 block of South Wood, including a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the leg.
Just minutes later in the 5400 block of South Albany, another man was shot multiple times and was brought to the hospital in stable condition.
It followed earlier incidents Friday afternoon, two teenage boys, shot and injured. One in the 5000 block of West Henderson, police believe it to be gang related. The other in the 1400 block of east 76th.
But the most bizarre of them all happened in East Garfield Park, in the 3500 block of West Lake, where paramedics, simply driving through the area, came upon a shootout between two groups of men. One person was shot in the chest– another, in the head.
The paramedics were not injured but they called the cops and then took one of the men to the hospital.
