Cruisin’ like Huckleberry Finn: Camping on the Mississippi River

With the help of renowned river guide, Michael Clark and Big Muddy Adventure Outfitters, we’re cruisin’ down the Mississippi by canoe.  See what it’s like to sleep on a remote river island as we explore America’s mightiest river.  And we’ll venture south of St. Louis to an area known as French Illinois.

You’ll feel the Mark Twain energy, relaxing on a Big Muddy sandbar, trading river tales and fellowship.  Join us on the wildest Cruisin’ Illinois adventure ever.

I loved this segment! I lived on a houseboat one summer on the Mississippi and this brought back great memories. We are cleaning up garbage on the river through Living Lands and Waters. Check out their website at If anyone is interested in volunteering to help keep this treasure clean please contact them. This is a great organization.
