Cyclists take over LSD for Bike The Drive

Lake Shore Drive is closed to drivers Sunday morning, to make way for the annual MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive event.

The route opened up at 5:30 a.m., and all cyclists had to enter at Columbus and Jackson drives. Cyclists are allowed to go 30 miles from Bryn Mawr Avenue to the north and 57th Street to the south.

The event benefits the Active Transportation Alliance, who strives “to make biking, walking and public transportation easier and safer throughout the region.”

All bicycles must be off Lake Shore Drive by 10:15 a.m.

Yesterday 5/25/13 over 400 cities marched against Monsanto but not once did they mention anything on the news but yet in Chicago this is what they call local new & completely ignore the massive anti-Monsanto movement! they mentioned the memorial parade that took place in downtown Chicago just a few hours b4 the march why wasnt it covered? there was hundreds of people out there marching against Monsanto so is very hard to believe that not one news station of the Chicago area attended or reported this worldwide event to the public this is news & very important why wasn’t this event covered?! As a Chicago citizen I care about this information as am sure many are as well.
