Illinois bill mandates students to be taught birth control

Public school students in Illinois would be taught birth control if Governor Quinn signs a new bill into law. birthcontrol

Until now, public schools have been allowed to teach only abstinence in their sex-education classes, and tell kids it’s the only perfect protection against unwanted pregnancy.

The new bill would mandate that sex-education classes include information on other forms of contraception.

Schools would still have the option to teach no sex ed at all.

    What happened to the parents' role in educating their children about sex??? Why does the state have to waste more $$ on teaching in school what should be taught at home?

    Teaching the children at home doesn't work all the time but maybe the state should consider the pill for male and female.
