A 9-year-old boy is seriously injured after being attacked by a neighbor’s dog.

It happened Sunday night on the far South Side in the Roseland neighborhood.

Police say the boy was playing in the yard, when the dog jumped over the fence and attacked him.

A nephew of the neighbor who owns the dog was able to pull the dog off the boy.

The child has bites to his arms and legs.

The owner was cited for failure to obtain a dog license, failure to have the dog vaccinated against rabies, and failure to keep the animal restrained.
