Wrigley Field currently has four gates, but the Cubs’ owners want to add a fifth.

It would open out onto a new plaza that’s proposed on the west side of the ballpark.

The new gate would relieve congestion after Cubs’ games, by giving fans one more exit.

The gate was not part of the renovation plan the Cubs offered to city planners.

It would be added later, after the design is finished.

How is another gate going to relieve congestion? 5,000 people hitting the streets is still 5,000. Now they want a title wave instead of the gradual trickle to the parking lots, cattlecar public transit, drunkie and ripoff joints.

What the Cubs need is one gate, an exit gate to the suburbs.

Ricketts is convinced that improvements to the ball park will result in a world series win.Someone needs to pull his head out of his ass and tell him that improvements will not result in a WS win. It's the player that are needed.
