The John Wayne Gacy investigation helped solve a cold case in New Jersey.

Steven Soden was 16 when he ran away from a campground in New Jersey in 1972.

Soden’s father lived in Chicago, which is why his sister thought he might be one of the seven Gacy victims that have yet to be identified.

She gave a DNA sample which ruled out a connection to Gacy.

But, it was a match for bones found 13 years ago in a wooded area where Soden was last seen.

Further tests confirmed the remains were his.
