Tall Ships Chicago 2013

Tall Ships returning to Navy Pier

A nautical treat will be returning to Navy Pier this summer.

“Tall Ships Chicago” is back for 2013, after taking a 3 year hiatus. Attendees will once again be able to meet the crews of the 14 mighty vessels. Visitors to the lakefront pier can also take tours and excusions on the ships.

Navy Pier officials say the last time the event was held, back in 2010, more than one million people attended.

General admission will be $5, but cruises and on-deck tours will cost extra. “Tall Ships” will be held August 7-11.

Keep in Mind, that if you can't wait, or won't be able to make it to this great festival in August. Tall Ship Windy, Chicago's Official Tall Ship, will be sailing from Navy Pier all summer. http://www.tallshipwindy.com

What harbors will the parade of ships take before entering Navy Pier? Will they sail though Winthrop Harbor?
