Suspected Nazi death camp guard was Chicago resident

A former Chicago resident could face trial in Germany for being a Nazi concentration camp guard. hanslipschis

The Simon Wiesenthal Center identifies him as 93-year-old Hans Lipschis.

He immigrated to America in 1956, and lived in Chicago’s Ashburn neighborhood until he was deported in 1983.

He was arrested Monday near Stuttgart on suspicion of taking part in the murders of Jews at Auschwitz in the 1940′s.
