The sound of clinking bats is a sure sign of spring but today it felt more like summer with Chicago’s first 80-degree day in more than seven months.
Parks all over the city were filled with laughter as kids enjoyed the warmest day of the year, and parents were glad to finally get their kids outside after a long winter stuck indoors.
The warm weather was so enticing, one local Church Group decided to move their weekly family group night to the park.
Some students WGN ran into at North Avenue Beach said the July-like weather was reason enough to skip class and head to the beach.
Despite an evening game, Wrigleyville was hopping early Tuesday afternoon. A lot of Cubs fans enjoyed a cold drink on this hot day. Even some Padre fans from sunny California say the Chicago weather is much better than they expected.
Unfortunately, the warm weather won’t last much longer! Wednesday will be nice but Tom Skilling says rain and colder air is on the way later this week. So enjoy it while it lasts!
