More cops on foot patrol in high-crime neighborhoods

A new Chicago police strategy is being expanded after it showed signs of cutting crime.

Starting next week, two dozen more police officers will be put on foot patrol in a high-crime neighborhood.

The plan has been successful since it was implemented in Chatham last month.

Twenty-four rookie officers with a six pm roll call, walk the neighborhood through the night.

They’re backed up by veteran police in cars.

The plan is to have them in 10 more high-crime neighborhoods by the end of the year.

These neighborhoods have been lost to the street gangs, drugs, and the citizens not wanting to stand up and help the police. They are like a war zone. Since they are like a war zone, the national needs to come in and babysit every street corner. Impose martial law if they have to. One of two things will happen. Either the gangs will disband because they can't make their money selling drugs anymore, or the residents of these neighborhoods will get sick of living under martial law, and start cooperating with the police and help them get these gang bangers. These neighborhoods have gotten so bad that this is what it has come down to.
