Admitted killer cross-examined in family murder trial

The man who claims he killed a mother, father, and their son at Johnny Borizov’s request faces tough, cross-examination on Friday at Borizov’s murder trial.

Jacob Nodarse pleaded guilty but mentally ill to shooting Jeff, Lori, and Michael Kramer at their home in Darien in March 2010.

He claims Borizov forced him to commit the killings when Borizov was in a child custody battle with the Kramer’s daughter, Angela. Angela survived the shooting by hiding in a closet.

But, Borizov’s lawyers aren’t buying that explanation.

Here’s some of their line of questioning:

Defense: “You put that gun in your hand, did you not?”

Nodarse: “Yes.”

Defense: “You decided to put that gun in your hand, correct?”

Nodarse: “Um. There was a reason why I made that decision, but yes.”

Defense: “I understand there’s things you want to say but if you would just answer the question. You made the decision to put that gun in your hand, did you not?”

Nodarse: “Yes.”

Defense: “You made the decision to put the clip in the bottom of the gun with the bullets, did you not?”

Nodarse: “Yes I did.”

Defense: “You made the decision to purchase the gun, didn’t you?”

Nodarse: “Yes I did. Yes I did.”

Defense: “And you made the decision to purchase the gun with your money, right?”

Nodarse: “Yes I did.”
