Continuance for Aurora teen accused of wanting to join Al Qaeda

A teenager from Aurora who’s accused of wanting to join Al Qaeda has been granted a continuance in court Tuesday morning because he has a new lawyer.

Abdella Tounisi, 18, was arrested at O’Hare Airport last Friday before he boarded a flight to Turkey.

Authorities say he was in contact with a man who he thought was a terrorism recruiter but was really an undercover FBI agent.

The feds say he planned to join a terrorist group in Syria.

His next court date is now set for May 2.
