A bartender who says a Chicago police sergeant tried to intimidate her to prevent her from filing charges another another officer is suing the city for $2 million.
Jennifer Cafferata, a bartender at Tommy’s on Higgins, says a drunk off-duty officer threw a beer bottle at her head when she stopped serving him last May 15th.
When she went to the Jefferson Park Police District, Cafferata claims a police sergeant tried to discourage her from filing charges and told her the officer would file a cross complaint.
The officer has never been charged.
A complaint Cafferata filed with the Independent Police Review Authority is pending investigation.
