Reese Witherspoon arrested; husband booked with DUI

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon’s performance as an upset wife earned her trip to jail and a disorderly conduct charge Friday.

Witherspoon’s agent husband was booked for driving under the influence, but she was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge for verbally harassing the officer.

The Atlanta Police report says,  after repeatedly warned to be quiet,  Witherspoon hung out of the window of the car saying that she didn’t believe he was a real officer, asking him if he knew who she was and that he was about to be on national news.

Sunday night, Reese issued a statement saying that she clearly had one drink too many and is deeply embarrassed.  She added, she was disrespectful and is sorry for her behavior.

Both were taken to jail, booked and released.

Bad encounter of the most embarassing kind. The officer is to be commended for his professionalism, and Reese for her humility after the fact. Who among us has gotten away with ever so much more?
