State Police update area road closures

The Illinois State Police is advising motorists to limit travel.  This is an updated list of road closures:




•             I-290 WB is now open all the way to St Charles, I-290 EB open as well

•             I-94 NB/SB between Beaubien Woods and 130th one lane open

•             I-94 NB ramp to 130th EB closed

•             I-94 NB/SB ramps to Stony Island closed

•             I-55 – All lanes and ramps open

•             Edens all lanes now open

•             I-57 NB ramp to I-94 SB still closed

•             The Bishop Ford is currently still closed from southbound I-94/I-57 split to 147th Street, and northbound from 147th Street to 115th Street

•             I-94 NB/SB ramps to Stony Island closed

•             I-57 NB ramp to I-94 SB still closed


DISTRICT CHICAGO          Cook County – there may be a number of state route road closures through Chicago and suburban communities not patrolled by ISP.



•             I-290 in both directions at Emroy Avenue is OPEN, except for the right lane and right shoulders for debris clean-up.

•             St. Charles ramps are OPEN.

•             Rt.83 ramps southbound are still CLOSED by request of Elmhurst PD.

•             IL.64 and I-294 north ramps will be CLOSED indefinitely.•

•             *LAKE COUNTY –no major closures on state routes; however, major delays are expected as a result of water on pavement;

•             IL Rte 83 – south of Winchester Rd is reduced to one lane due to water on pavement.

•             *MCHENRY COUNTY – Rt.31 @ Algonquin Rd; Rt. 31 @Pyott Rd. – closures

•             *KANE COUNTY – All roads passable

•             *DEKALB COUNTY – Rt.23 from Whipple Rd. to Peace/Plank Rd. intersections – closures

•             I-88 westbound ramp to Diehl Road closed.
