There is a long list of school closings Thursday morning due to the flooding.
Most of them are in the suburbs. Chicago Public Schools are open.
New Trier Township High School closed both campuses Thursday because of flooding in the area around the school. One campus is in Winnetka and the other is in Northfield. They say the school has some flooding inside the building at Winnetka, primarily in the storage areas, and indoor fieldhouse but none of the classrooms are affected.
In Liberyville, fire department officials say part of the Libertyville High School building sunk about a foot. There are no injuries as it happened before school started. Classes are expected to be canceled there.
The Emergency Closings Center provides the status of Chicagoland area schools, businesses, daycare centers & organizations.
