Even though severe weather warnings and watches have mostly been cancelled, waves of thunderstorms continue to slam much of the Chicago area.

More than 300 flights were canceled Wednesday at O’Hare Airport due to bad weather, the Chicago Department of Aviation said.

At Midway, airlines are reporting some delays of 30 minutes or more, with a few flights canceled earlier Wednesday.

Also, the rain appears  to be making travel times longer than usual, according to WGN’s traffic reporters.

The National Weather Service has canceled its Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several counties a bit before its scheduled 5 p.m. expiration time. However, the watch remains in effect for Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, LaSalle and Will counties.
