Lunchbreak: Monkey bread from Smoke Daddy

Smoke Daddy
1804 W. Division Street

Monkey Bread

-4 cups flour

-1 cup clarified butter

-1/4 cup milk

¼ cup sugar

-1 egg

-1 tablespoon salt

-1/4 cup water

-1 tablespoon dry active yeast

-1 tablespoon sugar

-1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ pound brown sugar to ½ pound butter

In small bowl mix water, yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar.  Let side for 15 minutes or until doubles in size.  In mixing bowl combine milk, egg, ¼ cup sugar, 2 cups flour, salt and the yeast mixture (after it has risen).  Mix in mixer.  Add rest of flour.  Mix more for 3 minutes.  Take mixture out and knead on counter for 1 minute.  Form dough into a ball.  Place in bowl, cover with seran wrap.  Put in a warm, moist place.  Once it doubles in size, cut to make dough balls – 1”x1”.  Roll in cinnamon sugar. On top drizzle the brown sugar and butter warmed mixture. Put in loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

What's up with this? Show one recipe & post another. Any idiot can take a package of Pillsbury rolls and roll the pre-made dough into balls, stuff in pan & bake. Where is the recipe for the dish made from scratch? All this turned out being was a free promo commercial for the restaurant. Not impressed. Even the frosting is different than what he said the frosting was made of. Stated Karo syrup & not powdered sugar.

Right on, I went looking for the scratch recipe and find a pre-made one. I'm allergic to a lot of the ingredients in the pre-made. What a disappointment this is!
