Roll: New bicycle shop uses 3D body scanner to get you fitted
On tonight’s WGN News at Five, I’m heading to Roll – a new bicycle shop at 2163 N. Clybourn in Chicago. Owner Stuart Hunter walked us through the store’s centerpiece, a 3D scanner that uses lasers to create a geometric skeletal rendering of your body. They call it Roll: Perfect Fit, and the staff uses all of the data to get you properly fitted on your bike. And yes, the system is different than those airport scanners, no need to worry about certain parts getting out there.
The best part – you don’t have to buy a bike there to use the system (although I’m sure they’d love that). You can bring in your current bike, they’ll scan you, and make sure you’re properly fitted – all free of charge.
My video feature will be posted here after the show. You can find Roll here…
