Gun found in suburban high school

Responding to a tip Thursday morning, Elgin police recovered a shotgun from a student’s locker at Gifford Street High School.

The gun was not loaded, according to police, and no ammunition was found.

A 15-year old student, who resides in Streamwood, has been taken into custody.  Charges have yet to  be filed in the incident.

    How come the picture shows a hand gun revolver and not the shotgun found in the kid's locker.

      They probably meant revolver instead of shotgun. Just like them saying an AR15 is a machine gun. The reporter probably wears a scarf in the summer and takes pictures of his food at restaurants.
