Ex-Bear McMichael faces incumbent in Romeoville mayoral race
Former Chicago Bear and Super Bowl champion Steve “Mongo” McMichael is looking to become the next mayor of southwest suburban Romeoville.
He’s up against current Romeoville Mayor John Noak for the job.
Shortly after joining the race, McMichael lost his job at ESPN Radio. An attorney for Noak had sent a letter to the station saying if McMichael went on the air, the attorney would seek equal air time for the mayor.
McMichael has lived in Romeoville since April. This will be his first time running for office.
