A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday afternoon on the city’s West Side.
The shooting took place just before 4:30 p.m.
Police say the boy was shot in the chest in the 2200 block of South Leavitt Street.
Officers who responded to the scene radioed out a description of a vehicle that may have been involved.
Other officers stopped a car with that description and took three people into custody.
Police say they found a weapon and that the three people in the car all have gang ties.
