Two men stabbed on Near North Side

Chicago police are investigating two stabbings that happened within blocks of each other on the city’s Near North Side.

The first incident happened at 3:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Clark Street, outside a Jewel Osco. A man in his 20s was stabbed in his torso. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not immediately available.

A second man in his 20s was stabbed in his abdomen in the 600 block of North Clark Street at 4 a.m., police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

It isn’t clear if the stabbings were related.

Police are reviewing the surveillance video from the the grocery store.

Area Central detectives are investigating and no one was in custody.

    I think Washington should pass bills forbidding the use of knives. Illinois shoud hurry up and pass a CCW bill,

    A few more details would be nice. There are usually a number of apparently unemployed blacks who hang out on that block at all hours of the night. If they stabbed each other, it wouldn’t be as shocking as it would if a white guy, such as a grad student, had been stabbed.
