Stolen trailers, boat found at scrap yard

Chicago police found the shredded remnants of several stolen vehicles at an Englewood scrap yard Friday.

They were led to the yard by a man they accuse of stealing a semi trailer.

Officers say Eddie Watson was hauling a stolen trailer early Thursday morning.

They arrested him after a brief chase on the West Side — which caused two minor crashes.

Investigators got a warrant to search Englewood Used Auto Parts on 59th Street, where they found parts of roughly half a dozen stolen semi trailers, and an intact 30-foot boat that was reported stolen.

Police say it’s not clear whether the owner of the yard knew the vehicles were stolen.

I am sure the owner was not involved and the confusion is the product of nefarious acts by misguided but well-meaning employees of the firm.
