Arlington Heights police warn public of banking scam

Arlington Heights police are warning the public about a banking scam. PoliceLights400x225

An 89-year-old woman received a call from a man claiming to be a Chase Bank employee.

The man told her there was a problem with her account and she needed to send a check to another person for more than $10,000, the entire amount in her account.

Both names mentioned in the phone conversation are actual Chase Bank employees, one of which is in South Africa.

    If it sounds too good to be true —- THEN IT IS NOT TRUE!!! i hope the person can get the money back.

    I would hang up and just call the bank (using the phone number from a bank statement or business card). Is thinking really that difficult these days?
