Group sues over new Chicago ward map

Chicago’s new ward map has been taken to court.

The League of Women Voters and several Chicago residents filing suit, claiming the boundaries violate the Constitution.

They’re requesting the wards be divided equally by population, saying it’s a fair, impartial way to protect minority rights.

The City Council signed-off a new ward map back in January of last year based on the 2010 census.
