19-year-old William Strickland is being held without bail in the murder and robbery of his 72-year-old grandfather, also named William Strickland.
Prosecutors allege that the 19-year-old used the gun he stole from his grandfather’s home to shoot the 72-year-old Strickland in the back six times during a robbery March 2nd. The elder Strickland was waiting to be picked up by a Pace bus for dialysis treatment at the time.
The younger Strickland is accused of using the money he got from the robbery to buy a cell phone, gym shoes and get tattoos. Prosecutors say investigators recovered the murder weapon from the younger Strickland.
He’ll be back in court on Monday.
