Teen stabbed over stolen iPhone

A teenager is charged with trying to commit murder in Winnetka over a stolen iPhone.

17-year-old Mitchell Silverstein, of Glenview, is accused of stabbing another 17-year-old in the chest on the 1400 block of Scott Avenue Thursday night.

Police say Silverstein chased the victim down and attacked him.

A 16-year-old who tried to stop the alleged assault was stabbed in the hand.  Three other people were involved in the altercation.

The teen that was stabbed in the chest is hospitalized, and is expected to recover.  The other victim was treated and released.

Silverstein is expected to appear in Cook County bond court Saturday.

    The thief deserves to die, he tried take something that wasn't his. Here's I see it…anything I own is worth more than the life of the person trying to steal it. It's that simple….
