On tonight’s WGN News at Five, I’m taking you inside Howells and Hood – the new 17,000 square foot restaurant/bar concept in Tribune Tower. As you may have heard, the team over at Bottleneck Management (Sweetwater, South Branch, Old Town Pour House) spent $10 million building out the space that used to be home to WGN Radio. The Showcase Studio is still there, but all of the other WGN studios and offices are up on the seventh floor now.
Howells and Hood has enough space to seat about 700 people, both in their multiple dining rooms and outdoor patio. Through a partnership with the Tribune Company, Howells will also offer catering on the Tower’s 25th floor balcony, which is available to rent for private events.
