1 killed, 4 injured in car crash on north side

A man was killed and four other people were injured in a car crash on Chicago’s far North Side.

It happened in the 2900 block of West Howard just after 9 p.m. Thursday.

A car hit a tree near the Evanston border.

The driver’s side was smashed and the victims were pinned inside.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four others were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
