Bond set for cat killer
A 22-year old suburban man is being held on $125,000 bond after allegedly killing three cats belonging to his girlfriend.
According to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, as John Talmo of Arlington Heights watched his girlfriend’s cat “Princess” last summer, he strangled the cat and told her it had suddenly died. Then last October, Talmo strangled and beat to death a second cat, “Abigail.” Most recently, in February, “Piper” was rushed to a veterinary hospital. The cause of death again was found to be beating and strangulation.
Talmo said under police questioning “he lost his temper” when the cats scratched or bit him, according to the state’s attorney’s office.
He faces charges of aggravated cruelty to an animal.
