15 rescued after trapped in apartment elevator in Loop

Over a dozen people had to be rescued after they were trapped inside an apartment elevator in the Loop.

It happened early Thursday morning at a building on Michigan and Monroe.

Fifteen people were inside the building’s elevator when it stopped just after 11 p.m.

Firefighters got them out by 2 a.m.

Firefighters say there may have been too many people in the elevator.

No one was hurt.
