DNA, cell phone lead to arrest in South Loop rape
DNA and a cellphone have led to an arrest in a South Loop rape case.
Bond is set at $2 million for Deontae Latham of Rockford.
The 19-year-old is charged with sexual assault, home invasion and robbery.
Police say he attacked a 56-year-old woman January 9th in the 1400-block of South Clark.
She was in her car in the driveway of her home. Prosecutors say he tapped her window, showed a handgun, forced her in the back seat and raped her.
Police tracked him through DNA and a cellphone left in the car.
