Central Illinois digs out from historic snowstorm
Residents throughout downstate Illinois are digging out Tuesday morning from that massive snowstorm that swept out of Kansas and Missouri into central Illinois and Indiana.
The early spring snowstorm hit hard on Sunday and then continued to deliver more snowfall on Monday.
The storm by-passed Chicago but dumped record amounts throughout the region. Springfield got 18.5 inches of snow.
Champaign and Urbana got between 10.5 to 12 inches.
The storm also created havoc on the roads in St. Louis, where they got more than a foot of snow from this record breaking storm.
