Man shot in Bellwood near church

Police have no motive or suspects in a shooting near a west suburban church.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the back  outside the Monroe Baptist Church in Bellwood.

Police say the shooting happened in the 3500 block of Bellwood Ave and the man was able to turn the corner before collapsing near the church.

He was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.

A nurse who was dropping off food at the church helped the man while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

She told police, the victim said he did not know who shot him.

It seems to me that if all of these shootings and killings that have happen over the past two years in Bellwood, IL are all in a four to six block range and the same young men are seen hanging in the same location and the Bellwood police department know this, and know who all are involved and have not did anything to stop the senseless violence. Then maybe the citizens of that town should replaced their police chief and the mayor with someone who will run these few common thugs out of their town. Maybe the town of Bellwood officials should take a page from the book of Aurora, IL and drop the hammer down on these wild animalistic punks, and take their town back before it becomes another Maywood or Chicago

Is any one watching, these guys are hanging out in about a six- eight block area. It would not take a rocket science major to
Figure out what to do about this, please police department help us stop these killings.

That would be the 3500 block of Monroe, or the 800 block of Bellwood Ave. I heard the gunshots and live on the 900 Block of Bellwood Ave.

I really wish I could tell you why all these shootings occur in this one particular area. From what I can see it's not gang or drug related.
