Cell therapy may defeat deadly form of leukemia
Researchers in New York say it could one day be defeated by cell therapy.
Doctors say an experimental treatment has now produced dramatic results, in forcing a leukemia into remission. In fact, one 7-year-old patient became leukemia-free, in just eight days.
The therapy works by genetically altering a patient’s immune cells to fight cancer.
It has yet to be tested on adults.
