Bond $10M for man charged in murder of Calumet City teen

Bond was set at $10 million for a 20-year-old man charged with the murder of a 15-year-old Calumet City girl .

Eric Brown is charged with first degree murder and aggravated battery in the shooting death Ashaya Miller.

The judge set the high bond after hearing prosecutors describe the shooting.

Brown, who was reportedly aiming for someone else, shot through an open kitchen window Sunday night, killing Miller and wounding her 19-year old cousin in the arm.

    Ok…wth is the big Bond amount for??? let's be realist now, We all know nobody has 10 mil laying around to get his,is that suppose to scare the Next Killers? When will people wake and see this Kids Don't have any Conscious. I agree that he should be Punished,..not overlooking him AT ALL, but What has me is that Ridiculous Bond. That's Why the County Jail has to let go 1500 inmates due to these Judges posting these Idiot ,and outrageous bonds TO Poor KIDS.

      If he has 10 million bond, he will have to post 1 million. Criminals only have to post 10% of the bond dollar amount. Cook county jail is so full because cook county has a lot of shitbags, namely on the south and west side of Chicago.
