I hear of all these shootings but hardly ANY arrest!

The reason why there are never arrests is for the simple fact that these people won't take a stand and help the police. Until people talk, this viscous circle will continue. The pity for these " victims" is gone. You have to help yourselves.

The 'G' in Mr. G's stands for Gang's hangout center.

That's not exactly true. There are so many functions that take place in this club that are usually very safe without the younger crowd. I personally know the owner and like any other club when you rent to a younger element, this is what happens. It is a very nice place when majority events held there are with a 30 and over crowd. This is an example of how ignorant kids having kids raising the as thugs, wearing saggy pants, to big clothes, and no education. I do agree their setting our race back 700 years.

I disagree. They are not setting us back because “back” would be in a time where we had more peace and unity. “Back”, was in a time when we had pride and a sense of self worth. “Back” was a time when the younger generation’s mentalities were that of “King’s”, X’s and Newton’s.

That is a blatant lie. It is so sad to hear the ignorance of some people being spread to bad mouth other people or their establishments. The G stands for the owners name if you care to know the truth and not spread unfounded rumors. The owner is a businessman and though I do feel there should be more screening on wo some of hte buisnessness allow to patronize them, I have been at this establishment on numerous occassions for a variety of different events; including community service events – were you there? Don't judge what you don't know!

And another public service message. We shall see …Im sure CPD will be watching closely that establishment. Have a nice evening. Take your umbrella . There is a forecast for scattered gunfire this evening.

The problem is he will let ANYONE with the MONEY throw parties there. I live on that block and lately this has been happening often. He had a teen party a few weeks ago that ended in violence. There was a repast there a last weekend ago for some well known gang banger and there were police standing on the corner with visible weapons. Sometimes you have to say No because all money is not good money. Mr. G's is a beautiful classy club… He needs to save himself the embarrassment and only allow certain events to take place there.

I live in the area as well and for the most part as long as its an older crowd there are no problems, and true money isn't everything , but I also know the person who was hosting this party and Aaron is a businessman and I sure he was not expecting this at all because he has friends that are police and if he would have thought anything like this would happen they would have been there. Gun Violence is every where and until the Village starts to take the Village back it will continue. and the sad part about it is the KKK, and even some police and politician like the fact that we kiiling each other off

@Yolanda – I know Juice too! :) He is a business man and he does reach for the younger generation. However, rapping, alcohol, and a certain age group just don't mix well.

@Tasha – Didn't know the deceased but I know what the officer standing near my car with the automatic weapon told me… Maybe it was a different repast…..

To the person that mentioned the repast at Mr.G’s the repast was for a good kid that was not a gangbanger and he come from a good family. His mother is a great person and she raids her kids well.

    Dear scumbag gang bangers,

I want to thank you for once again, making Chicago look like a violent cesspool to the rest on the nation. Your actions have once again, caused Chicago to miss out on extra income by steering away tourists and potential businesses that may have come to Chicago.
I would also like to thank you for costing taxpayers perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars by shooting 7 people, who were most likely on Medicaid. The E.R. Visits, surgeries, and stay at the hospitals will defidently add up, paid for by tax dollars. Maybe you should get some target practice in, and finish the job on your rival gangbangers, as a funeral is much more cost effective then sending 7 people on public aid to the hospital. So, thanks again for costing us hard working citizens more tax dollars.

I think if the owners of these clubs should stop thinking about making a quick buck and start saying no to the rap shows and concerts, keeping it just for the grown and sexy. That's why you can't keep a nice club open. People stop coming to the clubs in fear of their life. That don't sound like a good time to me.

all these comments bout this is what rap breeds is way off base!! Its not the music, its not the location of places its ignorant immature people since when were disagreements settled by guns and knives and other weapons. Fighting shouldnt be going on but how bout doing it the old school way and use your fists, damn! And the whole gun thing is outta control too many people taking to many lives, I agree business shuns away from certain areas due to the reputation but i'll state my belief on that. "It ain't bad areas, its bad misled people. You can live in a small town, high class town, or good side of town and their be murders and robberies and all that childish bullshit. Its the people that make areas unsafe, fearful, and dark not the areas themselves. Music does not do this, I've been to organized shows of all ages allowed. I'm a white female rapper myself and I don't think about shooting someone or feel scared going to the shows i support or perform at. Grow up and look at the real issue, poor parenting, drug abuse, abandonment, and yes some on the legal end for releasing people due to overcrowding at jails and setting bonds. With the increase of murders and violence, I believe anything with a weapon or that ends up in death by a weapon should have NO BOND

The rap is violent, the crowds are violent….the average young person is too dumb to tell the difference between "lyrics" and reality. Sorry, but it's true.

It must be very tough to be a law abiding black person. Unfortunitely, that counter culture is so common, and wide spread that it affects society's attitude toward all black people, in one way or another. Being loud, rude, aggressive, and violent repels people. Most white people figure it's just best to not take any chances, and avoid blacks as much as possible. Just look at all the support Zimmerman is getting, just because the kid he murdered was black. If Zimmerman had killed a white kid, he'd be locked up already. It's sad, the country is willing to assume Treyvon Martin was a thug, because so many black kids are, or at least want to pretend they are.

Disagreements have always been settled by guns knives and other weapons. look at history and look at all of the wars that have been documented. the difference is that the majority of them are not against their own, they are against other countries, races and religions.
