The official announcement is about a month away, but WGN already know some of the big names who will headline lollapalooza in grant park this summer.
The Chicago Tribune’s Greg Kot is confirming that this year’s Grammy winners for best album Mumford and Sons will be among the headliners.
Other headliners include Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and The Killers.
Kot says bands like the National and the Postal Service will also be playing.
“Early bird” tickets for the festival go on sale next Tuesday.
The festival is August 2-4 in Grant Park.
The Chicago Tribune contributed to this report.

Yes-not impressed with the headliners, hoping the rest of the card stacks up… Perry's stage has been the place to be for the last 3 years IMO. Pitchfork captures the true feel of the original lollapalooza's now a days. Lolla is quantity over quality.

If you have no clue who Mumford & Sons, The Killers, and Vampire Weekend are – you must be under a soundproof rock. I suggest you turn on 93XRT and hear some real music for a change.

93XRT, really? I'm not dead yet. "progressive/adult rock station", that's a joke. Should change the motto to crap no one wants to hear.

Mumford and SOns = Nickelback. Fake ass garbage music influenced solely on the record company for listeners of FM radio to eat up. THere's nothing real about it. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Bring back Jack White, who cares if he was here last year. Mumford and Sons is pure muff cabbage

I highly doubt that you have actually listened to M&S if you equate them to Nickelback. If you want to hate them for the sake of hating what is popular at the time, that''s fine, you are just missing out. Just read either one of their albums lyrics beginning to end, in order, and you will see that it is not just some "garbage music influenced solely on the record company for listeners". I think their lyrics can stand alone almost as an epic poem, but I also love their sound. I'm not going to argue that one though because their sound is a matter of opinion and you have already made your opinion of them extremely clear.
