An attempt to stop the closing of any Chicago Public Schools is now on hold.
CPS says it may close up to 129 schools, because of low enrollment or low performance.
A final list is due by March 31.
A state proposal that would have stopped the closings for at least two years, was pulled Tuesday.
The bill’s sponsor says he did not have enough votes from the education committee.
CPS CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett joined WGN Morning News Wednesday to talk more about the closings.
